This is an intermediate professional level position. The IT Technical Analyst provides support to the IT senior level staff to implement and support a broad range of facility-based IT equipment or software. May participate in the development and/or research of advanced technologies. May solicit input from project managers and stakeholders in developing business case documentation, features and requirements. Works closely with business unit to review day to day support services, to analyze and to validate the accuracy of information, and work with the IT senior level staff to determine the feasibility of solutions. This role provides input into the in-scope technical architecture for sourcing projects. Must be able to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
-Under general supervision, drafts documents, maintains project features, requirements, use cases, change requests, review results, as well as project artifacts in accordance with organizational standards and processes.
-May participate in efforts in the identification of high potential technologies and coordinating the implementation into the standard applications practices of DTE; may participate in the development of plans, schedules, and projects to ensure on time and on budget implementation of best-in-class solutions while meeting corporate goals.
-May work closely with outside vendors to evaluate vendors’ solutions for applicability to DTE’s business needs.
-Remains current with technologies and provides research and/or evaluation of specific products as required by management relevant area of responsibility, i.e. Server Engineering, Network, Database Administration, Security, etc.
-Actively participates in working sessions used to elicit features gather requirements. Gathers information, analyzes, designs, makes recommendations, and participates in solution implementation area of responsibility.
-May be responsible for the set up and repair of infrastructure and resolution of desktop incidents.
-Acts as a liaison among stakeholders, project team, and leadership in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization; works in conjunction with team members and our architectural direction to recommend pathways that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
-May have responsibilities for trouble ticket/problem resolution.
-Provides planning and time estimates on assignments.
-Performs both independent and collaborative analysis activities.
-Works on projects of moderate to high complexity that may involve one or more business partners, interfaces or systems.
-Maintains an awareness of relevant technology trends, innovations analysis techniques in the industry; works toward certification in areas of expertise.
-May assist with formal or informal presentations.
-May provide assistance with preparation of budget forecasting and other related financial reporting.
-Promotes continuous improvement philosophy and methodology that results in a continuous improvement culture within Information Technology. May utilize a variety of Operating System principles tools to facilitate effective solutions that improve process design in all areas of the business.
-Required: Education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following options:
*High School Diploma and knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through at least 5 years of Information Technology experience, OR
*Associate degree or industry-recognized certificate (i.e. the completion of a core group of courses designated by the institution) in an information technology related discipline is preferred; other non-Information Technology degrees will be considered. Knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through at least 3 years of Information Technology related experience, OR
*Bachelor’s degree in an information technology-related discipline is preferred; other non-Information Technology degrees will be considered. Knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through 1 year of Information Technology related experience.
-Analytical, technical, organizational, and problem solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from among a broad range of alternatives and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
-Required: one year supporting ABB NMR Energy Management or Distribution Management (EMS/DMS) system in the capacity of password management, patching and general IT support activities or similar experience in a process control computing environment.
-Required: one year working in UNIX, LINUX, Oracle database or Windows environment supporting patch management, operations, account management and general IT support activities.
-Required: one year of experience working within a NERC Regulated area operating under Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) guidelines or related compliance activities (ie. NRC etc.). Be able to provide evidence, interpretations of standards and testimony in support of DTE Energy’s compliance activities and needs.
-Ability to work in a team, project, and/or matrix structure, supporting multiple clients.
-Broad understanding of analysis and IT industry, e.g. emerging technologies, industry standards, support services, architectures systems design, and systems integration and solid knowledge of analysis and accepted IT processes and methodologies.
-Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills consistent with the ability to present the results of projects and research to management. Ability to influence and build relationships to foster a positive work environment and elicit support for acceptance of new technology within the organization.
-Experience and ability to create clearly defined business cases.
-Experience in use case design and possess the ability to create test data and queries to enable test execution and verification of results.
-Competent in multi-tasking (i.e. the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, issues or projects that may include high-visibility initiatives and require innovation, teamwork, and planning).
-Must be able to participate in 24 x 7 on-call system/application support on a team rotation basis and work occasional off-hours support.
