Description

Job Summary:

Designs, develops, and implements effective classroom, laboratory, and/or simulator training using the Systematic Approach to Training process with little or no direct oversight. Facilitates learning interventions. Ensures training material and presentations will result in client group performance improvement. Designs and presents training in a professional manner, which displays leadership and reinforces management expectations. Coaches and mentors students in initial and continuing training programs. Works closely with the line organization to help resolve emerging performance needs.

Accountabilities:

  1. Conducts training in accordance with Nuclear Training procedures, work instructions, and best industry practices.

  2. Designs and develops visual aids, courseware, lesson plans, student texts, handouts, On the Job Training (OJT) and Task Performance Evaluation (TPE) materials.

  3. Searches out and incorporates nuclear and industrial Operating Experience into appropriate training material.

  4. Assists in maintaining National Academy of Nuclear Training accreditation for accredited training programs.

  5. Solicits and responds to management observations of training and student feedback.

  6. Administers training evaluation tools to evaluate student progress and course effectiveness.

  7. Conducts training self-assessment activities.

  8. Makes changes to training material based on feedback, evaluation analysis results and industry experience.

  9. Emulates and reinforces management's expectations of industrial safety, reactor safety, classroom conduct, human performance etc.

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

  2. Two years experience, as an Associate Nuclear Instructor or equivalent at Fermi or comparable facility preferred.

  3. Four years experience (two of which is preferred in the Nuclear industry) in specified technical discipline OR an Associate degree/technical degree in the discipline with two years of related experience.

  4. Must participate as an Emergency Response Organization (ERO) member and responds to call-ins as appropriate.

  5. Computer Skills: MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

  6. Must be able to pass all phases of In-Processing including a background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate radiation worker/respiratory training and be medically certifiable (drug and alcohol screen).

  7. Demonstrated mastery using the development and implementation phases of the Systematic Approach to Training process.

  8. Ability to work effectively with people at all levels within and outside the company.

  9. Communication and presentation skills. Must be able to effectively prepare and present classroom presentations.

  10. Must hold or obtain Senior Reactor Operator Certification/License within twelve months.

11.Must meet regulatory requirements per Fermi procedures.
