_ GENERAL SUMMARY_

This is a professional position responsible for the operation process and settlement of the various DTE Energy Trading (ET) contracts daily and is responsible for ensuring that all costs are being captured in the ENDUR system—the financial system of record. The position works directly on the trading floor, managing the settlements of the many FRS Power Trade contracts, as well as the RTO Power pools, Transmission and Generation contracts. Incumbents work in accordance with existing policies & procedures, or specific instructions, but take on assignments entailing judgment and/or discretion to select from, or recommend alternative approaches. Work is mainly self-directed, with work results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures.

_ PRINICIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES_

  • Balances the DTEET trader books daily. Each book must be net “0” each day, in that all buys net to the sells per market per day. Most accounting/settlement processes work with the trading books of DTEET.

  • Reconciles the Energy and FTR markets for all RTO’s (Regional Transmission Operator) daily (MISO, PJM, IMO, NEPOOL, NYISO & ERCOT) and providing a month end checkout summary to General Accounting for GL entry.

  • Handles the Month-End Transmission settlement for all RTO’s.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of RTO tariff’s and applications as well as all settlement rules; keeps DTEET Traders informed of any upcoming Settlement rule changes, as they apply, on a regular basis.

  • Works closely with General Accounting daily, and during the month end checkout process to quickly analyze and solve problems and answer any accounting questions.

  • Balances daily, weekly and end of month DTEET FRS customer contracts, ensuring that the data in ENDUR agrees with the Counterparty’s data.

_ KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES_

A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university in Finance or Accounting, with one or more years of experience in accounting, to provide for the following:

  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relations with Day Traders, Origination Traders, Schedulers, Hourly Traders, Accounting, Risk, IT etc.

  • Ability to read and understand OATI tags, and can manage the accounting for any curtailments to those tags

  • Familiarity to a Database accounting system (ENDUR accounting system, Web Trader deal capture systems).

  • Financial/Accounting background or Energy Settlement experience

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and basic knowledge of PowerPoint

  • Experience with accounting software, SAP experience preferred

  • Strong financial and analytical ability

  • Possess strong problem solving skills that can generate the necessary procedures for resolution by self-implementation

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

The employee performs job duties in a climate controlled office environment, with a moderate noise level.
