This posting is to support the corporate initiatives to facilitate capital investment strategies by assuring that all testing and construction standards are being adhered to. This position would assure that nothing done during the construction and testing phases of these capital projects would have a negative impact on the long-term health and reliability of the equipment. Additionally, when gaps are identified in internal design, construction and testing specifications\procedures, this individual would be responsible for updating the specifications\procedures to assure that systemic issues are eliminated.
Also, plans and develops engineering projects with unique or controversial problems which may impact major Corporate programs. Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating complex technical assignments. Involves exploration subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation; novel concepts and approaches. Maintains liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters. Evaluates progress and results obtained, recommends major changes to achieve objectives. Consults senior management and directors, and may plan, organize and/or oversee the work of engineers and/or related technical personnel, but does not act in a supervisory capacity. Span of control: 0; this is an advanced technical level, individual contributor job.
Provide engineering support to service providers to assure that all Engineering standards and test practices are observed.
Provide training to service providers, when necessary, to assure that the service providers are aware of specific testing requirements.
Update all necessary testing procedures.
Update all necessary testing specifications used to bid jobs requiring engineering technician work.
Participate in meetings with project stakeholders as required
Work with the assigned Project Manager and\or Contractor Administrator Provide engineering & on-site support to DTE Field Technicians.
Provide feedback to Engineering\Planning\Design about issues found in the field during construction.
Builds relationships/partnerships with internal/external customers and community and governmental agencies/officials and maintain a process/customer-focused workforce.
Communicates to senior management and directors on technical issues that could impact the Corporation.
Creates and provides analytical studies using expert knowledge from as many as several technical disciplines.
Establishes and reviews test procedures; supports the application of new technologies, material and equipment.
Identifies and implements high level, long term strategic and tactical plans to ensure corporate objectives are met.
Identifies, develops and leads projects & programs and process improvements, intended to ensure continuous improvement in the Corporation's electrical engineering-related business and field processes.
Presents results of studies & projects, answers technical questions from internal/external customers.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 8 years of job relevant experience
-Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience commissioning of electric equipment (relays, transformers, breakers, etc.) or construction management
-Proficiency in computer applications relevant for field
-Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to lead cross functional teams
