Intermediate level engineer responsible for engineering design, project engineering and technical services work on company assets. Typical assets worked on are natural gas compression and transmission facilities. Projects typically involve piping/mechanical work, electrical power & control work, civil work or some combination of these. Responsible for understanding and following company engineering standards, material standards and applicable industry codes. Responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable regulations including pipeline safety regulations and environmental regulations. Participates on or leads teams which may include other engineers, CAD/drafting personnel, technicians, field employees and other personnel.
Designs new facilities which can include coordinating the activities of in-house CAD/drafting personnel or outside (consulting) engineering firms, operations personnel and other internal personnel.
Performs applicable design calculations.
Performs detailed drawing reviews to insure quality drawings are produced.
Specifies material and creates material lists for ordering material.
Collects and maintains well organized project records, including regulatory required records.
Oversees/manages construction work on smaller projects.
Provides engineering support to a project manager on larger construction projects.
Produces cost estimates for proposed projects.
Produces project spending forecasts.
Meets project cost and schedule objectives.
Performs routine engineering assignments by following defined processes, and procedures.
Works under and/or seeks guidance of experienced professionals to recommend and implement timely solutions involving design or operations and maintenance issues on company assets.
Provides guidance and assistance to Associate Engineers.
Provides technical services on a variety of subjects including: Piping issues, pipeline integrity issues, electrical power & control issues, compressor station issues, storage tank issues and issues with buildings.
Reviews plans by state and county road commissions or outside developers on construction projects that impact existing pipelines and resolves and manages issues accordingly.
Keeps up to date on current technology, industry and market changes.
Maintains a strong safety focus in all aspects of work.
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 2 years of job relevant experience.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
Masters Degree in engineering, science or business.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and Word.
Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
